Selecting articles on Responsive slider

If one is using the Responsive Slider to display articles it is only possible at the moment to select all featured articles.
It would be very useful to have the option of selecting articles by articles tags or categories.
This would make it possible to use the responsive slider to show selections of articles. This would be very useful for sites that present informational articles, like blogs or news sites.
