Starting with rev. 40, RSForm!Pro allows you to confirm a submission via an email activation link and display in frontend its status (confirmed or not).
Two global placeholders: "confirmation" and "confirmed" will include a confirmation link in the user email, respectiv will update the status once the submission is confirmed.
These placeholders can be used in 2 RSForm!Pro areas: "View submissions" menu item and "List submissions" module.
Step 1: enable the confirmation option
- In the backend panel, head to Components >> RSForm!Pro >> Manage forms , choose the form for which you want to allow confirmation and enable the "confirmation by email" option, via the "Properties" tab.
Step 2: edit the user email
- While you are in the "Properties" area, click on the "User email" tab from the left, edit the user email message and add the "confirmation" placeholder.
The "confirmation" placeholder returns the URL used for the submission confirmation. - Remember to add the placeholder as global:
{global:confirmation}
Step 3: display the confirmation status in frontend
- The confirmation status can be displayed in frontend using the "View submissions" menu or the "List submissions" module.
- To display the status using the menu item, access the "View submission" area from the Menu Manager and add the "confirmed" placeholder. The placeholder can be added
in the row layout or in the details layout.
The "confirmed" placeholder returns the status of the submission: confirmed or not - Remember to add the placeholder as global:
{global:confirmed} - The confirmation status can be displayed in the RSForm!Pro "List submissions" module in a similar way.
Upon form submission, the user receives an email with a confirmation link. The submission status changes to "confirmed". In backend, the status is displayed in the RSForm!Pro "Manage submissions" area. Notice that the status of the "confirmed" column has changed to "Yes".
