Ep. 61: Restrict K2 content with RSMembership!

With RSMembership!, you can restrict the access to some component specific URLs by using the RSMembership! content sharing plugins for K2, ZOO and FlexiContent. In this video tutorial, we will show you step by step, how can you restrict K2 items, categories and user page/blog using the RSMembership! K2 plugin.

We have previously created the memberships without imposing any content restrictions.

 

Step 1: Download the K2 plugin

  1. Head to Resources >> Customer downloads >> RSMembership! >> Shared Content plugins >> K2

 

Step 2: Install the K2 plugin through the default Joomla! installer

 

Step 3: Restrict K2 items

  1. 1. In the Joomla! backend panel, edit the membership for which you want to add a K2 restriction.
  2. 2. In the "Shared Content" tab, click on the "Add content" button.
  3. 3. Choose the "K2 item" option to restrict the content.
  4. 4.The access to the K2 item is now restricted.

 

Step 4: Restrict K2 categories

  1. 1. In the Joomla! backend panel, edit the membership for which you want to add a K2 restriction.
  2. 2. In the "Shared Content" tab, click on the "Add content" button.
  3. 3. Choose the "K2 category" option to restrict the content.
  4. 4. The access to the K2 category is now restricted.

 

Step 5: Restrict K2 user page/blog

  1. 1. In the Joomla! backend panel, edit the membership for which you want to add a K2 restriction.
  2. 2. In the "Shared Content" tab, click on the "Add content" button.
  3. 3. Choose the "K2 user page/blog"option to restrict the content.
  4. 4. The access to the K2 user page/blog is now restricted.
