Joomla Module for RSTickets

Hello everyone, does anyone know if there are plans for a Module for Joomla? I would like to know if new tickets arrive while on other parts of the site.

Oh wise developers, if there is no intended module, do you have any advise on writing my own module? Would it be straight forward or difficult? I am a proficient programmer, with Joomla experience. I plan to dive into your code soon but I would like a heads up if it is just not doable.
