I have been using RSFirewall for several years on my site. Recently I have been having intermittent problems with users reporting that links on my site are bringing them to Viagra (and the like) type of sites then the problem disappears (without me doing anything) but then the caches of my site in Google still show the Viagra titles for the pages.

I have run the RSFirewall System Check and it does not show any files being corrupted. Any idea how this is happening and can RSFirewall prevent it in anyway?

I am unable to install the RSFirewall php.ini file because it conflicts with another component my site relies on (Sobi2).

Any input is appreciated.

Hello,

I doubt that the php.ini file causes a conflict. It may require some adjustments if it blocks the usage of some PHP functions that are required by some of your installed components.

If you can provide more details on this we may be able to point you in the right direction.

First of all – are you sure it's related to RSfirewall?
Many things could be wrong at your site. Poor htaccess permissions, outdated modules or components, simple stupid security holes in custom php code, file upload vulnerabilities and so one. There are so many issues that could potentially lead to website compromise. Once the hacker (or more likely – the bot) got access to your files, it can change the links as he wishes. Did you consider checking your site with sites like unmaskparasites.com or even better scanning for security issues using webyfly.com security checkor any of the alternatives?

Hi donj, were you able to find a good work around on this yet?
