TOPIC: form not appearing

form not appearing 16 years 10 months ago #3

Hi, slight problem, but I have no form appearing at all. Probably a newbie problem, but do you have any ideas? I have looked at the page source, and the javascript is there, and a containing table for the form, just no form.

Is the form published? Also check the fields if they are published as well.

Or, make sure you are using the link provided by the component. Each form has it's own link, listed in the Forms Manager screen. It's called Link and it looks something like this: index.php?option=com_forme&fid=1

So your front-end page should be something like this: www.yourwebsite.com/index.php?option=com_forme&fid=1

A module will be available for download these days also.

Thanks, that worked. My first attempt was a menu item that pointed to the component. Now I have used a menu link to a URL it seems OK.

In general, is that the way to go with components?

No, i choosed that way of adding it because you could have multiple forms created, and if you select Component from the Menu link, and point it to Forme, it won't know which form to display.
