Usually, payment processors automatically convert prices. Adding multiple currencies is not a big deal.
I am working on our site so we can sell courses in two different countries. In Germany would would want prices in Euros and in the UK prices in £sterling. We have already opened two Paypal accounts - on int he UK and one in Germany to process the transactions. But we do need to have the prices and registration bookings in their own currencies. The prices are fixed so we don't worry about currency fluctuations. Just how we do this through the registration system. Quote

What if the base exchange rate does not match with the one provided by the payment processor, or local ones ?
Yes, that would have a different pricing for each ticket and payment gateway usually will handles the currency exchange, like paypal. For paypal if the currency not supported, it will throw error handles to contact site owner. I suppose it will be the same if we select a not supported base currency in RSevent config.
I see this is how others joomla event component done it http://prntscr.com/5cex6v

Can i suggest that, in the rsevent config. Multi currency can be added into a list.
On the event ticket, different currency can be selected from drop down. It will allow payment (paypal/bank transfer etc) to be made with the currency selected for the ticket.
