Ep.18 - How to verify Joomla! site ownership for Yahoo! with RSSeo!
Before submitting a Joomla! sitemap to Yahoo!, you need to verify site ownership in Yahoo!
RSSeo! lets you verify site ownership for major search engines from the backend Joomla! administrator panel, without uploading a meta tag or a HTML file.
In this episode we will verify a Joomla! site for Yahoo! Site Explorer
1. To verify the site, in the backend Joomla! administrator panel head to Extensions -> Plugin Manager -> System RSSeo!
2. In the "Plugin Parameters" tab from the right panel enable sitemap verification for Yahoo!
3. Access the Yahoo! Site Explorer account (http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/)
4. We will use the second verification method: By adding a meta tag to my home page
5. Copy the meta tag content (the string in brackets)
6. Go back in the backend administrator panel and paste the meta tag content in the System RSSeo! plugin
7.After saving, you may verify the site by clicking on the"Ready to authenticate" button
