The Groups providers a restriction center for users depending on their type.
By default it offers a list of all the standard Joomla! user group types, as described by the image below.
Clicking on one of the user group types will open up a page that will display the current group restrictions. This basically applies for all groups but some of the options are disabled for some of them. For example, Public front-end users can't edit their own comments (see the screen shots below: left Registered group, right Public front-end group).
Available RSComments! group specific restrictions
- Post new comments : the guest will be able to post (or not) events.
- Autopublish : posted comments by this group will be published automatically (without the need for a moderator to publish it from the back-end area).
- Enable Captcha : if enabled, a captcha image will be placed on the comment submission form.
- Enable BBCode : if enabled, a additional style bar will appear (see image below)
- Edit own comments : if enabled the user will be allowed to edit his own comment
- Delete own comments : if checked the user will be allowed to delete his comments
- Edit other comments : if checked the user will be able to edit other comments
- Delete other comments : if checked the user will be able to delete other comments
- Publish comments : if checked the user will be able to publish comments
- Allow voting for comments : if enabled the guest will be able to vote for comments
- View author IP : display the comment submitter IP
- Show emails : display the comment submitter email address
- Censor bad words : if enabled the comment will be filtered with configured censored words: Components > RSComments! > Configuration > Filter
- Check names : if enabled, the guest will not be able to the names configured on your RSComments!: Components > RSComments > Configuration > Comments > Forbidden names
