Purchasing a license [Read All]

Downloading RSform! and it's add-ons [Read All]

When purchasing RSform you get an e-mail which contains the license code and a download link. Accessing that link will take you to your download area. The download area is structured as follows:

• Component - contains the full component package
• Language Files - contains the language files available for the component
• Modules - contains the modules that the component has
• Plugins - contains the plugins available for the component

In each of the folders listed above you'll find 2 files for each item. The files that have J15 at the end are for Joomla 1.5.x, the rest of them are for Joomla 1.0.x.(except the language files that are version independent)

Also you can download the add-ons by going to your joomla Administrator > RSform > Support > Files. The same list of files is available there to. In order to access this area you need to paste the license code in the License Code box first. 

Upgrading from tryout [Read All]

If you first installed the tryout version of the component and purchased a license, you'll have to upgrade to the full, unencoded version.

To do so, you have 2 options.

• Uninstall the tryout and install the full version
  

1. When you purchased a license, you received a license code and a download link. You can use the download link to get the full version of the component. Just go to Component and download the version that you wish to install (com_formex.x.x.zip for Joomla 1.0.x or com_formex.x.xJ15.zip for Joomla 1.5.x). You can also get the component by going to your tryout installation, pasting the license code in the license code box, and then clicking on Support > Files. Note that you won't be able to access the support area without a valid license code.
2. After you downloaded the full version of the component, you can backup the forms you created with the tryout (if any) by clicking on Backup your forms
3. Once you backed-up the forms, uninstall the tryout version
4. Install the full version of the component
5. Add the license code in the license code box
6. Click on Restore and point to the backup file

• Update from tryout to full version(doesn't work on all servers)
  

1. Paste the license code you received in the License Code box.
   
2. Attention! this procedure doesn't work on servers that do not have the Allow remote inclusion php option set to true. So if you see the message:
   Error, invalid license code or remote file _update_rsform.xml not available
   you won't be able to use this procedure.
3. Click on the Accept terms checkbox
4. Click on Update
5. The tryout will be replaced with the Full version automatically.

Installation and Setup [Read All]

Manage forms [Read All]

In this screen you can see all your forms. Click on the form name to edit it, or if you want to duplicate a form, select it and click on Copy. Each form should have an unique form name. Learn more about creating multi-language forms here .

Forms Manager list columns:

• Form Title
  The form title will be displayed in the front-end. You can remove it from the layout. Learn how here .
• Form Name
  The form name is used to identify your forms. Also it is being used when creating multi-language forms.
• Published
  A form is Unpublished when initially created. Make sure you publish it before hitting preview.
• Data
  A small report on the submissions for the form. Click on it to view the submissions screen.
• Form Link
  This is the main link of the form and can be used when adding the form to a menu item .
• Preview
  Same as Form Link.
  
• Form ID
  The Form ID is used when adding the form to the front-page menu. More about adding the form to a menu item.

The Check for Updates procedure [Read All]

If you wish to update your RSform! version you must follow the update procedure.

To do so, you have 2 options.

• Uninstall the old version and install the new version
  

1. When you purchased a license, you received a license code and a download link. You can use the download link to get the full version of the component. 2. After you downloaded the last version of the component, you can backup the forms you created by clicking on Backup your forms
3. Once you backed-up the forms, uninstall RSform!
4. Install the new version of the component
5. Add the license code in the license code box
6. Click on Restore and point to the backup file

• Update to full version using the Check For Updates procedure(doesn't work on all servers)

The RSform content plugin (mosforme) [Read All]

The content plugin mosforme allows you to publish a form inside a content item. To publish a form inside a content item, you need to install the plugin/mambot first.

1. Get the plugin
• You can get the plugin by accessing the Customer Support on our website, and go to Downloads under the purchased product(in this case RSform!) and going to Plugins and download mosformex.x.x.zip for Joomla 1.0.x or mosformex.x.xJ15.zip for Joomla 1.5.x
2. Go to the Installers page of joomla, and install the plugin/mambot
3. Go to Plugins (or Mambots) and publish it
4. Open the content item you want, and type {mosforme 1} for example. You can find the number of your form by going to the Forms Manager screen and look at the last column: Form Id
