RSads! - Classified Ads Component RSads! is a classified ads component that helps you create a powerful ads website. The component is fully customizable and maximizes the flexibility much needed in a complex ads website. RSads! can be integrated with other Joomla! components, like Jacl and AEC for commercial ad websites, Joomfish for multi-language, all the major SEF components for better search engine positioning, and others. The product comes with a list of modules and a mambot to integrate it into content items. With RSads! you are able to create unlimited categories and subcategories of classified ads. Each ad category can have it's own template, parameters and submission form. So, for job ads you will be able to customize your submission form and template to enable users to add CV, for cars, you can add parameters such as year, fuel type, options, for Real-Estate you can set fields like Number of rooms, number of baths, etc. RSads! is the right tool whenever you want to create a classified ads based website and given it's maximized flexibility you will be able to change whatever you need and wish. All of this from your Joomla!. Our suggestion is that you use the sample data to start using the RSads! component. We already created examples for the most common categories, such as Items for sale, Jobs offers & Resumees, and Dating. You can enhance the forms created with your custom options, but that's a start. - How do i install it?
Open your RSads! back panel, go to Backup/Restore, and choose the previously downloaded file (rsads_sample_pack.zip)
Please note: When installing the sample pack, all your previous records will be erased, so be careful. We recommend that you first create a backup of your data, if you want to keep it safe.RSads! is a Joomla Commercial Component. Click on Browse, and choose the previously downloaded file com_rsads1.x.x.zip. Once you have installed the component you are ready to configure it.
In this chapter we will describe all the features & functions related to the Ads. You will learn how to quiclky moderate and manage the ads, how to manually add new ads, move & copy the ads to different categories, remove, publish and unpublish ads.
You can classify your ads in an unlimited number of Categories and Subcategories. In this chapter you will learn how to add and quickly add new categories, how to edit the categories you added, how to set permissions for ads in a certain category, and how to assign Ad forms to it. With RSads! you can have different Ad forms for each of your categories. This feature gives you a lot of flexibility because you can create categories with parameters like number of rooms, position, location for real-estate ads, number of seats, fuel type, producer for motor ads, upload cv, experience for job-related websites and anything else you might think of. RSads! comes with a default number of categories and ad forms to use as example before starting to set up your live website. This way you will be able to understand better how the whole process works. RSads! uses an unique and powerful way of adding classified ads. Since most of the classified ads require custom parameters for each category, we thought that you might want to create custom forms for inserting ads for each category/group of categories you have in your website. RSads! uses the core RSform! code for it's form management. RSform! is the best form management tool for Joomla and used in more that 5.000 websites worldwide. In RSads! we limited the fields to 30. You can create forms for inserting ads, with custom fields. Then, you can assign these forms to the categories in your website. When a user wants to post an ad to a specific category, the proper form will load, and he will be able to choose from the selectboxes you defined, respect validation rules like number, alphanumeric, alpha, email, upload specific files like pdfs, jpg only, and so on. Another great feature is the power of fully customizing the e-mails that are sent out when someone inserts a new ad. You can choose to send this e-mail to the user as a notification that the ad has been received, and it will be reviewed & published soon, also, you can send it to the editors. And if you have assigned an editor / category, you can send the e-mail only to the editor responsable for the category selected by the user. More on Ad Form Emails here . RSads! has it's own set of templates. The beauty of it is that you can share/download templates from other RSads! users. You can check the templates already published here: http://www.rsjoomla.com/component/option,com_rsfiles/task,files.display/ In it's simplicity, all you have to do when you want to load new templates, is just to download them from our website, then click on "Load Templ" and upload the previously downloaded file. Also you could share your creation with the others. All you have to do is to select the template you created and click "Download". A template file will be generated. You then have to load your template to our website and after approval, it will be available for the others to download. Whenever you need assistance you can enable the Help switch, from the top-right of the screen. Once enabled, you will then see small info icons near all the features / functions of the program. Clicking on the small info icon will open a pop-up where you can read the part of the manual dedicated to that issue. That's not all! If you are not satisfied with the user guide, you can click on the Questions & Answers link. You will see a list of questions and answers previously asked by other users regarding the issue you are interested in, and you will be able to ask a question or more. Your question will be sent to our tech support, and common issues will be published in the list.
