Categories You can classify your ads in an unlimited number of Categories and Subcategories. In this chapter you will learn how to add and quickly add new categories, how to edit the categories you added, how to set permissions for ads in a certain category, and how to assign Ad forms to it. With RSads! you can have different Ad forms for each of your categories. This feature gives you a lot of flexibility because you can create categories with parameters like number of rooms, position, location for real-estate ads, number of seats, fuel type, producer for motor ads, upload cv, experience for job-related websites and anything else you might think of. RSads! comes with a default number of categories and ad forms to use as example before starting to set up your live website. This way you will be able to understand better how the whole process works. The Manage Categories screen lists all the Ad Categories in your website. The subcategories are idented to right from the parent category. From this screen you can completely manage your Categories, add and quickly add new categories, edit, publish, copy, move and remove items.You have two options when adding new categories. The first is by clicking on New. Use it when you manually want to add one category at a time. In the Edit Categories screen you can customize the parameters of your categories. You can assign different Ad Forms for each of them, change user permissions for Viewing, Editing and Posting, modify the number of days that an ad can stay published etc.
With Quick Add you can insert multiple categories that are on the same level and have the same parameters. Please type a category title on each line. The categories will be ordered as you type them. Each of them will get the parameters that you set in the Quick Add screen, including the Parent category.
With the Copy Categories function you can duplicate the categories. After selecting
the Categories that you want to duplicate, you can choose the
category/categories where you want to save the duplicates.
With Remove Categories you can delete the categories. Select the categories that
you want to delete and click on Remove. A confirmation message will
pop. Deleted categories cannot be restored. When deleting a category, the ads will be moved to the home category, and unpublished. Click on the small Publish icon on each category row, or select multiple categories and click on the Publish button.
