RSads! Logo User Guide

Ads 

In this chapter we will describe all the features & functions related to the Ads. You will learn how to quiclky moderate and manage the ads, how to manually add new ads, move & copy the ads to different categories, remove, publish and unpublish ads.

Ads Manager Screen [Read All]

This is where you manage the Ads in your website. The ads are ordered by submission time, so the latest ads are always first in your list. From this screen you can completely manage your Ads, edit them, publish them, copy, move, remove, and quick jump to categories.

New Ad [Read All]

If you manually want to add a new Classified Ad, click on New. Since each category can have it's own Ad Form, the first thing you should do is to choose where you want to save your ad.

Category

Select a category from the Category dropdown. Each time you select a different category, RSads! refreshes the page, in order to load the proper form.

Owner

You can choose the owner of the ad from the Owner list. The user will see the ad in it's "My Ads" page in the front-end once you save & publish it.

Date Added & Date Expires

Based on the Category Auto-expire days, the Date Expires field is automatically filled with the Today + Auto-expire days, but you can change it.

Published

Sets the Ad published or not published.

The next set of fields changes based on the Category you choose.

Edit Ad [Read All]

In the Edit Ad screen you can change a classified ad. Since each ad resides in a category, and each category can have it's own customized form, the parameters that you can change when editing an ad varies.

So when you open the Edit Ad screen, you have the

Main parameters:

Category

Select a category from the Category dropdown.

Owner

You can change the owner of the ad from the Owner list. The user will see the ad in it's "My Ads" page in the front-end once you save & publish it.

Date Added & Date Expires

Based on the Category Auto-expire days, the Date Expires field is automatically filled with the Today + Auto-expire days, but you can change it.

Published

Sets the Ad published or not published.

The next set of fields changes based on the Category you choose.

And the variable parameters:

Based on the selected category, the fields can vary. 

Copy Ads [Read All]

With the Copy Ads function you can duplicate the ads. After selecting the ads that you want to duplicate, you can choose the category/categories where you want to save the duplicates. By holding the CTRL key, you can duplicate the selected ads in multiple categories.

Move Ads [Read All]

With Move Ads you can quicly move the selected ads to a different category. Select the ads you want to move, then click on Move and select where you want to move them.

Remove Ads [Read All]

With Remove Ads you can delete the unwanted ads. Select the ads that you want to delete and click on Remove. A confirmation message will pop. Deleted ads cannot be restored.

Publish Ads [Read All]

With Publish Ads you can quiclky publish the ads. If you selected to moderate your ads, this is how you set the ads as available to the front-end. Quiclky publish them by clicking on the small X on each ad row, or simply select the ones that you want to publish, and click on Publish from the top right controls.

If you set up an Auto-expire number of days for your ads, the ad will be available starting from now till now + number of days you selected. Each category can have it's own auto-expire number of days.

Once the Expire date has been set for an ad, it will not change anymore if you decide to unpublish & publish the ad. If you want to change it's expiry date again, you will have to edit the ad, and change it manually in the Date Expires field.

Unpublish Ads [Read All]

With Unpublish you can quickly make the ads unavailable for the frontend. You can use it as a moderation tool for your ads. If you have switched Autopublish to off in the category editor, the ad will be automatically unpublished upon submission and an administrator will have to publish it.

Quick Jump to Category [Read All]

The Quick Jump to Category filter is located in the top-right side of your Ads Manager screen, right underneath the Control buttons and the Manage Ads title.

With the Quick Jump filter you can view ads from a category only, helping you to better manage your ads. 

Show Ads Filtered [Read All]

Near the Quick Jump to Category filter there is a secondary filter that you can use to see only the Active / Inactive ads or to see all of them. Useful when you need to publish the new ads.
