TOPIC: System Check gives suspicious file warning

System Check gives suspicious file warning 9 years 5 months ago #29191

Just installed 2.7.1
I have run the System Check and I get a malware warning - suspicious file found in the root path of your TAR.php installation.
Please can you advise me if I can ignore this. If it's a real issue then please can you suggest how I resolve it?
Thanks,
Bill

You should manually check this file for anything suspicious. If this is a legitimate file required by one of your extensions, then add an exception for it during the system check.

Thanks Alex but that's the problem! What is "the root path of your TAR.php installation" and what does a suspicious entry look like? There's a TAR.php file in the public_html directory and it's a few hundred lines long. Is this what I should be looking at and, if so, what am I looking for?
Thanks,
Bill
