Auto Block IP

I would love to see an auto Block of an IP added to the package.
So for example my sites recently have had a spate of attacks, so i would love to see these options added
* If one IP address attempts to log into your site 'X' number of times in 'Y' period of time block the IP address and send a notice to the administrator.
* Ability to modify the log in extenstion eg. xyz.com/administrator to xyz.com/access this will make it harder for people to find the administration area to attack
@Janis
You actually have a separate option for blocking login attempts. Further to this, you can simply list your IP address within the Whitelist area, so you can bypass such restrictions.
QuoteHi! Question: if I use the auto-block IP, does that only count for repeated unsuccessful log ins? I mean, if I'd fail to login myself occasionally (with many successful logins in between), will my ip still be blocked after 10 false attempts in total?

The option can be enabled here: Components > RSFirewall! > Configuration > Active scanner: Enable automatic blacklisting

Autt block ip
Hi On your page http://www.rsjoomla.com/feedback/single-feedback/630-auto-block-ip.html you wrote this auto blocking feature is implemented in the software. Now I have just purchased and installed version RSFirewall! 1.4.0 rev 44. But can you tell me where to set this up.
QuoteWe have an attack on our server that from the same IP address we get about 15 requested per second which is slowing down the server. If I put this ip in the firewall manually everything goes back to normal. But after 5 minutes it starts again but then from a different ip address. All it does is ask for root of the website. It does not try to login or so.
Please advice.
Thanks Andre
Automatic IP blocking has been added in R42, along with specifying the minimum number of attempts.
QuoteRenaming the /administrator is not possible, but it's possible to add a Backend Password that will prompt the user before displaying the Joomla! login form.
